Architectural Design
Steven earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree at the Syracuse University, School of Architecture in 1988, where his love of design and his passion for his Italian heritage took him to study in Florence, Italy. During this time, he had the opportunity to study some of the world’s most famous buildings. This experience gave Steven an old world appreciation for design and an understanding of the integrity of construction techniques and materials.
After graduating as an Architect, Steven accepted a position with Centerbrook Architects & Planners in Essex, CT where for the next 13 years he honed his skills in all aspects of design, construction, advancing technologies, and most importantly his professional development and team building skills. As an Architect, Steven worked on a variety of project types from high-end residential work to complicated museums and educational buildings. During his time there, Centerbrook Architects & Planners won the National AIA Architecture Firm Award, the highest honor that the American Institute of Architects can confer on a firm.
The decision to re-start Tiezzi Construction, LLC shortly after his father passed away was an emotional yet easy one for Steven. Here he is able to combine his experience working with his father as a young apprentice/carpenter with his professional career as an architect. These two qualities play a major role in working with Steven on any project. Since the start of Tiezzi Construction, LLC, Steven has had the opportunity to work with many local Architects to create award-winning projects. On many of these projects he is able to use both his Architecture and Construction skills working with Owners and Architects to make each project unique.
As an Architect, Steven uses his construction experience to design projects within budget.
As a Builder, Steven uses his architectural training to understand each client’s design so he can easily work with Clients and other Architects to develop details during construction that are consistent with the overall design.
